Lucy's training weekend - 29/05

Training this weekend was not so great. Cycling anyway. I did do a long run and went to athletics but that's not really going to prepare my posterior for five days of sitting on a tiny seat, that is far to small to support the rest of my body.

I had planned to do a really long bike ride on Sunday evening. This went down the pan when I severed my finger with a potato peeler, passed out and spent the whole evening till 1am in A&E.

Me and my bike

My beloved bike. This is me getting the practice in. Just a little bike ride to Brighton and back.

The start of the bike ride blog, here we go......

I'll start with a bit of background and explain the 'Steelcase Bike Ride Challenge'

Seven Steelcase employees and one PR consultant (me) will, in 24 days take on an adventure on two wheels which will cover over 440 miles in five days to raise money for Action for Children. We will cycle from Steelcase's London office to the Steelcase Glasgow office, cycling through two countries, witnessing some spectacular sights and no doubt experiencing some aches and pains.

This is where the eight of us, Neil Hallum, Mark Spragg, Kapilan Palan, Kate Fergus, Nick Mann, Mark Stafford, Zoe Humphries and me, Lucy Sparkes will be uploading photographs and our thoughts prior and during the challenge.

Can we go the distance! ummmmm ...........yeah, of course we can!
